This website is largely an informational presentation site. There are no user accounts, no newsletters and no payment functions. A form is available for getting in touch; the processing of the data submitted through it is described in section 5. The website does not use cookies or local storage. Vercel Analytics is used to measure reach; it works without cookies and without storing anything on your device (section 9). The website places two technically necessary values in your browser's session storage: the most recent scroll position, so that you continue reading in the same place when navigating back, and a marker that prevents repeated reloading after a failed load. Neither contains an identifier, neither allows recognition, and both are deleted when the browser tab is closed. As they are strictly necessary to operate the site, no consent is required for them under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. The language selection (German/English) is determined solely by the URL you visit (e.g. /de for German). Apart from the technically necessary connection to our hosting provider (section 3), no content is loaded from any other third party when you visit the website; fonts and all other resources are served by this website itself. Recipients of personal data can only be our hosting provider Vercel (section 3) and our email provider DreamHost (section 5). Data is disclosed to other recipients only where this is legally permitted or required.
This website is hosted by Vercel, Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the website, Vercel automatically processes data transmitted by your browser for technical reasons (server log files), in particular: the page visited, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system and IP address. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a stable, secure and performant website). Where Vercel processes personal data on our behalf, this is done under a Data Processing Agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Where Vercel processes data for its own purposes (such as security, abuse prevention or compliance with legal obligations), Vercel is itself responsible under data protection law. Data transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR, under which Vercel is certified; for other transfers, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses included in Vercel’s Data Processing Agreement apply (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). The server log files accessible to us are available only for a limited period. The duration and scope of storage by Vercel are governed by Vercel’s privacy notice and the Data Processing Agreement; Vercel may also process log data as part of its own security and abuse prevention measures. Vercel privacy policy: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy A copy of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses is available from the European Commission: https://commission.europa.eu/law/law-topic/data-protection/international-dimension-data-protection/standard-contractual-clauses-scc_en
This website uses the Inter and Instrument Serif typefaces. The font files are served locally by this website. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external font service; your IP address is not transmitted to third parties for this purpose.
If you contact us by email (mail@synvertas.com), the data you provide (your email address, your name if provided, and the content of your message) will be stored and processed for the purpose of handling your inquiry. The contact form submits nothing beyond the address of your website, your email address and the content of your message. There is no field for your name; all three entries are required in order to handle your inquiry. No third-party service is involved: your entries are sent to a server function on our own hosting at Vercel (section 3) and forwarded from there directly by email to the mailbox at DreamHost named above. There are no further recipients, and the data is not stored separately beyond sending it. To protect against automated abuse and to keep sending fast, the server function processes your IP address at two points: as soon as you select the first field of the form – at which point the connection to the mailbox is opened in the background so that sending later goes through without delay – and again when you actually submit. The address serves solely to limit the number of operations per connection within ten minutes. It is held only in the memory of the short-lived server instance, is not stored permanently, is not logged, and is discarded at the latest when that instance ends. There is no evaluation for any other purpose. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing abusive use and in the reliable operation of the form). DreamHost, LLC, 417 Associated Rd., PMB #327, Brea, CA 92821, USA is used as the email infrastructure provider for receiving incoming emails. Where DreamHost processes personal data on our behalf, this is done under a Data Processing Agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (DreamHost’s Data Processing Addendum). DreamHost reserves the right to process data outside the USA as well, at any location where it maintains its own processing operations. All transfers to third countries are safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs, Module 2 – controller to processor) pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR, which form part of DreamHost’s Data Processing Addendum. That addendum constitutes a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR and forms part of the terms of service without requiring separate execution (available at https://www.dreamhost.com/legal/customer-data-processing-addendum/). DreamHost privacy policy: https://www.dreamhost.com/legal/privacy-policy/ Storage duration: Your inquiry is deleted once it has been fully resolved and no reasons for further retention remain. If your inquiry leads to a contractual relationship, the related correspondence is retained for the duration of the applicable statutory retention obligations; messages required for establishing or defending legal claims may be retained until the expiry of the relevant limitation periods. Providing your data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without your email address, the address of your website and the content of your message, your inquiry cannot be processed. Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).
